Haylon Technologies awarded Direct to Phase 2 Army SBIR Contract to Develop Power Management Algorithms for Aircraft

Apr 30, 2024

Haylon Technologies was awarded a Direct to Phase 2 Army SBIR contract to develop power management algorithms for aircraft platforms utilizing batteries for critical functions. During the contract, Haylon will adapt and test its proprietary software technology for use in Army quadcopter systems.

The software under development at Haylon enables highly-accurate prediction of device power demand and preemptive switching between complementary battery chemistries to handle surges. This solution enables use of more energy-dense batteries in devices with more variable power demands such as unmanned systems, as well as improving battery cycle-life.
